We got a hold of Samsung's Galaxy S6 Edge and tore it down for you. During the disassembly, we found that taking apart this phone is way harder than Samsung's Galaxy S6. Specially, tearing down the dual-curved display was the most difficult step, and we ended up breaking the screen. So we won't show you how to remove the LCD screen in this tutorial. We do recommend any replacement should be done by a qualified repair technician. Otherwise, here we show you how to tear Samsung's Galaxy S6 Edge in 5 steps.

Tools needed:
A hair drier (A heat gun would be better, but only if you are experienced in using one.)
Case opening tool
A spudger
Several poker cards
A suction cup

1. Remove the battery door.
1.1. Heat up the Galaxy S6 Edge's back cover.(Notice: the adhesive on the battery door is extremely strong. Be Very Careful! Apply heat for no longer than 1 min.)
1.2.  Insert poker cards into the edge to remove the adhesive and widen the gap.(You will also need a case opening tool.)
2. Remove the rear housing.
2.1. Take the SIM card tray out.
2.2.  Undo the 13 screws in the rear housing.
2.3 Separate the rear housing from the LCD Assembly with the help of a suction cup tool and a case opening tool.
2.4  Remove the 3 case button flex ribbon cables. (Notice: the case buttons are all interchangeable.)
2.5  Peel off the wireless charging coil. (Notice: the wireless charging coil is not compatible with S6.)
3.  Remove the motherboard.
3.1 Remove the front facing camera.
3.2 Pry up the 2 antennas from the main board.
3.3 Disconnect the Galaxy S6 LCD screen and digitizer, battery, ear speaker, and home button flex cable connectors. Turn over the motherboard and disconnect the charging port flex cable connector.
3.4 Remove the ear speaker assembly.(Notice: The ear speaker flex cable includes the ear speaker and proximity sensor, and it is folded in a special way. Pay attention to it for reassembly.)
3.5 Remove the mic from the top of the logic board. (Notice: The Galaxy S6's mic is non-removable while the Galaxy S6 edge's mic is not.)
3.6 Remove the rear facing camera.
4. Remove the charging port assembly.
4.1  Undo the 2 screws near the earphone jack by the charging port. These screws are smaller than those in the rear housing. Then gently pry up the charging port assembly. (Notice: These 2 screws are smaller than others. Don't mix up them up during reassembly.)

5. Remove the battery.
5.1  Gently pry up the battery with a spudger tool. (Notice: Adhesive is applied to the front housing down the two sides of the battery’s length. You need to insert the spudger or other tool through the adhesive gently.)
5.2 Notice: We recommend using a plastic spudger to prevent damage to the device.

With the development of new technology, more and more smartphone companies have begun to produce phones with curved displays. The world’s first curved display cellphone introduced to the public was the LG G Flex, which featured a flexible display and a self-healing battery cover. Following LG’s device is the Samsung Note Edge, which sports a curved screen on the edge of the device, and more recently the latest curved display phone is the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, with dual curved screens on both edges. Now the Galaxy S6 Edge looks great, but does it work great? Is it worth a purchase? Let’s discuss that now.
The curved edges of the screen enables quick access to information, direct receipt of notifications, and it gives users the ability to express their personality with different colors and effects. And with the swipe of a thumb, you gain quick access to frequently used apps, alerts and device functionality even when the cover is closed, and all that sounds grand.

However, holding a dual curved display in your hand isn’t especially comfortable. With smoother edges on the curved screen the risk of dropping the device is higher than with an ordinary display, and you’ll have to be extra careful of accidental touches on the curved areas even though Samsung has included some features to avoid unwarranted responses. Most important of all, with two thin curved edges the cost of the Galaxy S6 Edge is about $130 more than the Galaxy S6.

For smartphone enthusiasts, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge will certainly give you a brand new experience, but for ordinary users the phones with similar prices may give you a better experience than the Galaxy S6 Edge.

3 Common Causes For Ear Speaker Malfunctions

3 Common Causes For Ear Speaker Malfunctions

You can use this coupon code(ETSASS0PI) to buy products at http://www.etradesupply.com/.

Ear speakers often malfunction after a phone teardown. The most common malfunctions are small murmurs or noises emanating from the ear speaker. Generally speaking, there are 3 main causes that lead to these issues. Here we tell you what some possible causes are, and some fixes to go with them.

1.      The ear speaker was not properly reinstalled with the motherboard, or the touch point got damaged.
If the ear speaker is not installed properly you will need to uninstall the ear speaker, then reconnect it making sure the right points are in the right corners. You should also check to make sure that the touch points aren't dirty, and if they are, alcohol or 530 cleaner can clean them.
2.      Small iron scraps impede the signal.
The ear speaker has a magnet inside that is integral to the operation of the speaker. Usually, it's wrapped with a layer of plastic protector or net, but sometimes tiny iron pieces will fall through the small openings in the plastic cover. If you find any tiny iron pieces in the ear speaker, you can use a big magnet to remove them.

3.      The ear speaker is old and worn out.
When you can't figure out what's wrong with your ear speaker from the appearance, then you need to test the part on another device. If the ear speaker still won't work, then you probably need to get a new one.

Most of you have already seen our full tear down of Samsung's Galaxy S6, but here we'll teach you how to replace the Galaxy S6's screen in 7 steps. Samsung's Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge both use Gorilla Glass 4 for their screens. Gorilla Glass 4 is reported as the hardest Corning glass ever, and should be able to keep the screen from breaking in most situations, but accidents still happen. Keep in mind we recommend any repairs should be done by a quailified/experienced person otherwise more damaged maybe caused to the device. If you are that individual or are confident in your ability, then this guide is for you.

Tools Needed:
●  A Pair of Tweezers
●  Heat Gun or Hairdrier
●  A Spudger (Optional)

Step 1: Take Out The SIM Card Tray.
●  Power off the Samsung Galaxy S6.
●  Use an ejector pin or tweezers to take out the SIM Card Tray.

Step 2: Take Apart The Battery Door.
●  Heat up the Samsung Galaxy S6 Battery Door.
●  Pull the battery cover up with a suction cup. Insert a case opening tool to broaden the gap.

Step 3: Release The Rear Housing.
●  Undo the 13 screws in the rear housing.
●  Heat up the LCD Assembly.
●  Separate the rear housing from the LCD Assembly with the help of a suction cup tool and case opening tool.
●  Notice: be careful not to damage the wireless charging chip attached to the battery.

Step 4: Remove The Motherboard.
●  Pry up the LCD assembly connector, front facing camera connector, battery connector, ear speaker connector and home button flex ribbon connector.
●  Turn over the motherboard and disconnect the flex ribbon for the USB charging assembly.

Step 5: Remove The Battery And Small Components.
●  Gently pry up the battery with a spudger tool.
●  Remove the front facing camera.
●  Remove the ear speaker. (Notice: be careful not to break the flex ribbon.)
●  Remove the vibrating motor.

Step 6: Release The Charging Port Assembly.
●  Remove the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi cables.

Then you can assemble the new screen and the front housing with fresh adhesive. Just reverse the steps to get the phone back together. Good luck!
